LUKE SHADBOLT IS AN UNASSUMING CREATIVE WIZARD. EXTREMELY TALENTED ACROSS A MULTITUDE OF FIELDS, HIS CREATIVE ABILITY IS PHENOMENAL. DON’T BELIEVE ME? YOU SOON WILL.
Luke wears hats, lots of them. However he isn’t your quintessential photo guy. His rise to the elite ranks in photography originated from a career in graphic design and web development well before he picked up a camera. From Luke’s attention to detail and creative flair he pursued his love for photography.
His ability to capture water images unlike any you’ve seen before is in part, due to his stature, a Thor like physique with mega man hands allowing him to sit in some rather obscene positions in the lineup. His images quickly spread like wild fire through the surfing industry, gracing covers from the greatest of publications, earning the prestigious Nikon / Surfing Australia Surf Photo of the Year for 2014.

Most widely recognised for his surf photography and landscapes, however, the water world is only one aspect of his career. Turn the page in the life of Mr Shadbolt and you’ll soon see his creative wizardry in it’s finest form. You see, Luke’s partner (and soon to be wife) has built an empire within the fashion industry as Garry Pepper Girl. A household name to those that follow fashion, amassing a significant following of 1.5 million plus followers on Instagram alone. Together in the realm of high end modelling and advertising campaigns, Luke opens the creative gills for highly esteemed labels within the industry.
On any given week, depending on swell charts you’ll find Luke and Nicole in a different country almost every few days. It’s a part of his job that allows him to learn and evolve as a photographer, and one of the many reasons we’re drawn to his work.
